Southeast Mechanical is managed by an exceptional team who have a passion for helping successful companies grow.

Hugh Elks, President

Hugh is a U.S. Navy Veteran with over 20 years of experience in the Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning service industry sector.In fostering Southeast Mechanical’s values, Hugh helps drive the company’s focus on employee growth and ensures the customer experience is at the forefront of everything we do. Through his leadership and strategic direction, our companies realize operational excellence and growth in their markets.

Keith Bagby, CFO

With over 30 years of leadership experience, Keith is responsible for finance and accounting, technology, treasury, insurance, and post-acquisition integration functions. He values building a strong and autonomous team that focuses on collaboration and the support and empowerment of functional leadership within each company.He is an alum of the University of Georgia with an Accounting major and passed the CPA exam in Georgia.

Shelly Suggs, CPA Controller

Shelly was hired in April ’23 after we acquired Logan Home Energy Services in Winston-Salem, where she was CFO for nine years.Her intimate knowledge of the commercial and home HVAC industry is invaluable in helping our brands realize peak financial performance.She is also instrumental in coaching financial teams and assisting with IT, human resources, payroll, and benefits selection and implementation.

Sam Stevens, Corporate Development Manager

Sam has a background in finance and economics, and he oversees our mergers and acquisitions. When you partner with us, he will work closely with your accounting team to ensure due diligence and transaction processes are done efficiently and in mutually beneficial ways and transition processes are seamless with little disruption.
